REVITALISE Portland will kick off its first series of events, Fives at Five, this evening at Bahloo.
The group formed in September after a workshop run by Gilbert Rochecouste, founder and managing director of Village Well, and hosted by the Committee for Portland.
Committee for Portland executive officer Anita Rank said Revitalise Portland was a group of like-minded community and business people who “want to see things happen in Portland”.
The concept of the Fives at Five events is that during Friday nights in January (January 3, 10, 24 and 31) the community could come down and enjoy a laidback and relaxed atmosphere to welcome the weekend and create vibrancy around the city.
“Revitalise Portland is an objective of the Committee for Portland and it is not about promoting one particular business but about offering a range of activities throughout the year to get people out and enjoying what Portland has to offer,” Ms Rank said.
