A GOOD size crowd turned out at Hamilton’s Western Speedway last Sunday night to witness a night with plenty of action and excitement as the Victorian Formula 500 Speedweek Series took centre stage, with drivers battling it out in Round Two of their seven night Series.
Last Saturday night featured Round One at Mt Gambier, with Queensland driver Charlie Brown taking the “A” Main and looking forward to cementing his lead on the second night.
However, there was plenty of opposition, with some 40 drivers heading to Hamilton … all in the same to make up the points.
Heat one saw Chris Bellman take an excellent win ahead of Mathew Coates and Charlie Brown.
Heat two went to Tasmanian Brad Freeman ahead of Mark House and Glen Underwood.
Heat three and it was Ash Sinclair, followed by Andrew Rae, and Jye O’Keefe, while the fourth heat went to James Aranyosi, from Steve VanGinnekin and Dyllan Willsher.
In the second round of heats, Grant Stansfield led Jye O’Keefe home from Dion Bellman, while Matt Turner took the sixth heat from Dale Sinclair and Dylan Willsher.
