THE traditional nine-day SUFM (Scripture Union Family Missions) holiday program in Portland continues to attract more than 100 people each day.
The program closes today, but local co-ordinator John Simpson remains impressed with the numbers attending and the 50 volunteer leaders running the program,
Pastor Simpson said the program has a long standing track record of fielding creative games, stories, songs and competitions for families at the Bentinck St lawns or in the event of inclement weather the Portland Civic Centre.
“This year we have been getting around 110 people attending each day, that includes children and around 40-50 parents and grandparents … I think the program is holding its own,” he said.
