THE new look Casterton-Sandford Football-Netball Club is counting down the weeks before the start of the 2014 Western Border Football League season.
Coach Dylan Ayton wasted no time once the 2013 season ended to get his charges back on the track for pre-season training well before the Christmas-New Year break and most senior players responded to the challenge.
The club will gain a number of players from Sandford now that the merger has been officially endorsed by both clubs and recruiting has been the number one priority for the club since the final siren sounded to end the 2013 season.
Players such as Matt Killey and dual best and fairest winner Dylan Ryan have re-signed with the club for 2014. Ryan will work in Melbourne for the first six months of the year and will drive back to Casterton each weekend with Chris Forbes, a lively half-forward/midfielder the club recruited from Labrador in Queensland.
