THE departure of the Loreto Sisters at the end of 2013 also saw Portland’s last resident nun leave the area. But Portland-raised stonemason Shane Farrell has spent the past two weeks creating a new nun for the area. Mr Farrell carved the creation from a lump of limestone that fell out of the cliff near Anderson Point for his creation, doing the work on site. “It’s been one of the nicest offices I’ve ever had,” Mr Farrell said.
