ROCKLANDS Reservoir has been a popular destination for campers again this year and police are thrilled with their behaviour.
Water levels are sitting at 41 per cent, giving visitors plenty of opportunity to enjoy swimming and water sports.
Balmoral police officer Leading Senior Constable Geoff Barcham said dozens of campers had made the trek to Rocklands and surrounding areas since Christmas.
He said Fulham and Brody’s were popular camp grounds with between 12 and 20 groups camped at each and everyone had been well behaved.
“At Glendenning there are probably 30 or more groups,” he said.
“We’ve had no reports to police.
“We are happy with the behaviour of the campers and the drivers.”
While Rocklands has always been a popular camping spot it did see reduced visitor numbers during an extreme dry spell several years ago.
“The last few years there have been a few people camping but Easter is the busiest time,” Ldng Sen Const Barcham said.
