MORE Australians will soon hear about Portland’s iconic cable tram thanks to a new $12,000 marketing campaign.
Portland Cable Trams (PCT) received the good news from Premier Denis Napthine last week that their application to Regional Development Victoria had been successful.
The State Government will contribute $9000 to the campaign and PCT the remaining $3000.
PCT general manager Alan Rees said a recent $8000 advertising campaign with WIN TV, sponsored in kind by Glenelg Shire Council, had been successful but advertising on a bigger scale was needed.
