THE Southern 500 Speedway will decide its King of the Ring tomorrow night when the best Standard Saloon drivers fight it out for the coveted title.
After a frustrating event in 2013, where a superb night of racing was cut short by a power outage, a strong field is expected to line up on the night.
One driver who is particularly keen for a good night is Sandy Sutherland, who was thwarted in his attempt to bring up a trifecta when last year’s event was called off.
After back to back wins in 2011-12, Sutherland has proven himself a master of the event and with main rival Robbie Bruce not expected to line up this year will start as clear favourite.
