THE old St Mary’s Primary School site could soon be transformed into an up to 27 lot housing development.
Planning is underway for a two-stage development of the site which is set to kick off with a six-lot townhouse project.
Stage two, a 21 lot development for small townhouses to four bedroom homes, is set to follow shortly.
Mackkon Homes controls the development which was originally earmarked for a retirement village.
Director Mark Uebergang said the original plan fell flat after a series of issues with Southern Grampians Shire Council surrounding the direction of the development.
Mr Uebergang said he hoped the new development, combined with others around town, would open up new opportunities for growth in Hamilton.
