THE Portland Coasters women’s team will be looking to complete an unbeaten season this weekend as it heads into a double header at home starting tomorrow night against Stawell.
The Coasters are four from four at the moment and need just one more win to secure top spot heading into finals, however will go into both of this weekend’s matches severely undermanned.
With star defensive player Steph Pye having played her last game of the season due to relocating, key inside player Kayla Pickert unavailable and centre Julie Caldow likely to play limited minutes due to a calf injury the side would have already been stretched, however many of the team’s younger players will also be missing due to junior Coasters representative duties in Hamilton.
Coasters coach Ellen Zeunert herself will miss Sunday’s game against Horsham through junior coaching commitments, but said she and junior player Tayla Falconer will travel back to play on the Saturday night.
