A JETSKI hire business is in the process of seeking a permit to operate from the beach area between the Portland Visitor Information Centre and the existing boat ramp.
Warrnambool-based Total Rush Jetski Hire is in the early stages of lodging an itinerant trading permit application with the Glenelg Shire Council.
Total Rush owner Bianca Haydon said she had five jetskis she hoped to operate at the Portland site for 12 months of the year,weather pending.
She said jetskis could operate up to two nautical miles off the coast, and that she was aware of the speed limits of five knots applying through the vast majority of the area within the Portland Harbour, with a small area in the centre of the harbour where an eight knots limit applies.
