PORTLAND District Health’s new dialysis room is open, adding much needed cheer to patients using the service.
The newly refurbished room in the south wing of the hospital opened for patients on Wednesday, providing them with a change of environment and one of the best views in Portland across the harbour.
It features four dialysis chairs with a fifth machine available if needed.
The room will also be the future home of chemotherapy day services at PDH, possibly from the middle of the year.
Portland resident Neil Closter, 74, was in a jovial mood on Wednesday.
