GRAMPIANS have maintained their trop four position with victory against Hamilton at Dahl Turf thanks to a stunning display from all-rounder Carl Joyce in the Bendigo Bank A grade encounter on Saturday.
Joyce was magnificent with bat and ball in the match as he claimed the man of the match title with 63 runs and 4-8 with the ball, which included a rare double hat-trick (four wickets in four balls).
Anthony Read won the toss and elected to have first use of the wicket as he sent Joel Tully and Brenton Callaby to wicket to begin proceedings for the home team.
The openers began steadily as they strived to knock the shine from the new ball and in an attempt to display better batting form than had been shown by the side since the start of the New Year.
