For the first time in recent memory the Association will contest both its doubles and mixed doubles titles as well as its singles titles on the same weekend, with SDTA president Phil Graham saying the drop in team numbers across all three grades this season had allowed the move.
“Usually the mixed championships are a couple of weeks either before or after, but because we have smaller numbers we have decided to put the mixed on the same weekend,” Graham said.
“The Sunday used to only be for finals of all grades, but the mixed will be on that Sunday now so that we can make it a full weekend event and keep it contained to that weekend.”
