HAMILTON Harness Racing Club conducted a wonderful nine event program on Wednesday afternoon culminating in the running of the 2014 Mountain View Stud Hamilton Trotters Cup.
Once again the club was treated to great weather conditions, considering the area had such high temperatures on Tuesday.
All patrons were able to enjoy the cooler breeze flowing across the track.
Top marks to the track curators for getting the track in such superb racing conditions, with records given a nudge on a couple of occasions.
The main event on the card was the $12,000 Mountain View Stud Hamilton Trotters Cup with a field of 11 starters facing the starter in the standing start conditions.
Punters were positive about who to send out as the favourite, with the Rodney Petroff driven gelding Zedalite the public elect at $3, with money around for El Paco at $4.90, Paparazzi Snapshot ($4.70) and Jarvsofaks ($8.50) as the only runners under the $10 mark.
Once the tapes were opened in the standing start it was a race to see who would take the front running position with El Paco beginning very quickly to take up the pilot’s spot in front.
