JUNIOR Constable Thomas Meade is the newest and youngest member of Victoria Police.
Thomas, 11, from Wallacedale, who has muscular dystrophy and is awaiting a wish from the Make-A-Wish Australia Portland branch, was sworn in as an honorary police officer on Saturday afternoon.
Together with his family, Thomas was a guest of the Portland branch for the Wish Upon A Star Ball later in the day.
As an extra benefit Thomas was sworn in as a police officer after volunteers heard of his dream to be in the police force.
