FOLLOWING a meeting with residents last year Glenelg Shire Council has agreed to continue using Satimer Rd as a haulage route for unloaded log trucks.
Council passed the motion at last week’s meeting, also stipulating that council be informed and agree to the haulage routes in any future Timber Harvest Plans.
The haulage route using Satimer Rd – in Wando Vale at the north of the shire – was created by Southern Grampians Shire Council last year without Glenelg Shire Council’s consent.
Residents will be notified of an upcoming meeting to confirm that the number of haulage trucks will be reduced to nine per day.
Residents previously reported that up to 50 log trucks were using the light road each day.
