WHEN students knock on the principal’s door at All Saints Parish School this week they might, at first, be a little surprised to see a fresh new face looking back at them.
Welcoming them will be new principal Olga Lyons, who has taken over the chair from long-time principal Gloria Council, who retired at the end of 2013.
Mrs Council had been in charge of All Saints Parish School since the amalgamation of the two Catholic primary schools (All Saints Primary School and MacKillopCatholicPrimary School) in 2001. Prior to that she had been principal at MacKillop from 1988 to 1997 and of both schools from 1998 to 2000.
Given that stability in the role over the past 25 years, Mrs Lyons has big shoes to fill, but with a long history in Catholic education the school appears to have found the right person for the job.
