THE Hamilton Hurricanes Under 18 Boys team contested a tournament in Bendigo over the Australia Day long weekend.
The tournament provided valuable on-court match practice as there were insufficient entries for the Hamilton based tournament.
The Bendigo competition served as important preparation for the boys, who are about six weeks out from the state championships.
The tournament featured virtually all major Victoria Country associations and some metropolitan associations.
The Hurricanes faced some strong opposition in the A grade component of the tournament.
The Hurricanes played Mildura Heat in the first game on Saturday morning.
While the Hurricanes were a little rusty, coming off one week of training this side of the New Year, they were always within winning range before eventually going down by 12 points.
