DARTMOOR Football Netball Club has strengthened its link with the GWS Giants with the announcement that from 2014 onwards, they will be an official affiliate of the AFL club and become the Dartmoor Giants, replacing the moniker of the Swans.
The move will mean a complete rebranding of the club, with new playing uniforms for both football and netball teams and an official launch later in February, where inaugural Giants coach and now director, Kevin Sheedy, will join Jeremy Cameron to help celebrate the birth of a new era.
The rise of Cameron from playing senior football with Dartmoor as a 15-year-old through to becoming a best and fairest winner at AFL level with the GWS Giants in 2013, is something that the whole of south west Victoria can be proud of, and it is a sign of how proud both clubs are of his progress that his two clubs have formed this partnership.
The 20-year-old won the Kevin Sheedy Medal after a brilliant 2013 season where he kicked 62 goals despite the Giants winning just the one game during the season, earning the excitement machine the full forward spot in the 2013 AFL Team of the Year.
