MALUA racing trainer John Sadler looks set for a big day when he ventures to Hamilton with his team on Sunday.
Sadler has six runners competing in five of the seven races and all look solid chances.
While not a regular in recent times, Sadler has historic ties with Hamilton through his Group winning galloper, Pressman’s Choice, who won the cup in 1991 when ridden by Darren Gauci.
From his Colac based days back then, to stints at Dubai, Singapore and then Flemington as head trainer for Lloyd Williams, Sadler has travelled as a trainer.
His current role as one of two Malua trainers, along with Troy Corsten, sees him with over 70 horses on his books as one of the state’s leading trainers.
On Sunday, it’s hard to split his runners, but I’m settling on three to follow from a betting perspective.
Injunction looks a great chance in the 1406m Grand Central Maiden Plate.
A first-up third at Seymour over 1200 last month followed on from two similar placings in the middle of last year.
