SAM Rogers has been working towards her first gallery exhibition for three years.
Last night her dream came true and she opened Heirloom at the Hamilton Art Gallery.
The former Hamilton woman, who now lives in Melbourne, has dedicated hundreds of hours to her collection of 16 handmade collars.
Working full time in the graphic design industry means it has taken Ms Rogers a little longer to finish the exhibition than it would have otherwise.
“I wanted to dedicate a lot of time to the work, not just rush it, so that is why it has taken a while,” she said.
“Initially it wasn’t for an exhibition; it was a way of letting off creative steam.”
