LOCAL girl, Anna Mitchell set off on a trip of a lifetime to Denmark on January 18 to take part in a Rotary Youth Exchange through the Rotary Club of Hamilton.
The year long exchange will see Anna attend school, travel the country and experience Danish culture.
The Spectator spoke to Anna before she left for Denmark and she was excited and nervous about the exchange and was looking forward to the snow.
Now, Anna has settled into the Danish lifestyle after arriving in Copenhagen on January 19.
“The highest temperature I have had so far is three degrees Celsius, it has been an average of about minus four degrees since I’ve been here, it is very cold,” she said.
“But very cold means snow and the snow is really cool. Everyone has been complaining about it but I think it’s brilliant.”
