THE Hamilton Kangaroos have finalised their netball department for season 2014 with the appointment of Stephanie Holcombe as netball coordinator, with the added announcement that Rhianne Lewis will coach the A2 team for the upcoming season.
The appointments now mean that it is full steam ahead for the Kangaroos as they prepare for their second season of life in the Hampden league and selection trials for the senior teams are already in full swing under the guidance of A grade coach Sara Byrne.
Holcombe is excited about what the year holds for the Kangaroos and can’t wait to get started in her new position.
“I’m really looking forward to the challenge this role will bring,” she said.
“It’s great to be involved in the club.”
The position of netball coordinator is a hectic one as Holcombe points out.
“The coordinator’s role is to oversee the netball coaches, team managers and players,” she said.
“So that involves player registrations, liaising with other clubs in the league, organising equipment and making sure the paper work is organised for game days.
“It also involves attending league meetings and being a point of contact for players, supporters and the league.”
