WESTERN Speedway is gearing up for a huge program tonight with the running of the eighth round of the SRA Eureka Sheds and Garages Sprintcar Series, which along with the VSC Victorian Limited Sportsman Championship will headline the program.
They will be complemented by a small field of junior sedans, which will provide the support racing.
Regretfully, the scheduled Speedway Victoria Junior Sedan Series event has been postponed until March 29 due to time constraints and the lack of nominations by closing time.
Drivers are reminded that nominations close at 8pm on the Sunday prior to the event.
A total of 39 sprintcars will contest tonight’s SRA event, setting a record for Hamilton, where we usually see around 30 cars at the most.
After the recent heavy schedule for the drivers … with the Victorian titles, the Classic and the Australian title, as well as other interstate events in the recent weeks … it was somewhat unexpected.
Jeremy Cross, from Dubbo, is currently leading the series ahead of Brett Milburn, who recently took out not only third spot in the Victorian 410 title but also third in the 360 title.
Shaun Dobson, an exciting young driver from Tasmania, is currently sitting in third spot on the series table.
