THE Western Coastal Board has held meetings and toured coastal areas in the Portland district as it works towards preparing a new regional coastal action plan.
Board chairman Jill Parker, who is also a councillor with the Moyne Shire, said the new plan would incorporate themes that were common along the western Victorian coastline, along with individual local issues.
Representatives from the Glenelg Shire Council, the Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority, the Portland Bay Local Port, VicRoads, the Port of Portland and the Environment Protection Authority were among the groups attending the session.
“We visited areas such as the rock wall at Dutton Way, Bridgewater Bay, the work the council is doing on the Portland foreshore and the Port of Portland,” Cr Parker said.
