FRUITY flavoured ‘nicotine-free electronic cigarettes’ have arrived in Hamilton and there is nothing to stop children from buying them.
‘E-cig’ sales have been booming across Australia and most service stations now display a variety of styles and flavours.
Although the products do not have Therapeutic Goods Administration approval to declare it, the claim is that these “safe” replicas of cigarettes could help people quit the habit.
It is illegal to even possess an electronic cigarette or cartridge that contains nicotine in Victoria but there are no laws or regulations around the ‘nicotine-free’ versions.
The owner of Hamilton’s new ‘Tobacco Station Group’, Lloyd Etheridge said he was in the process of choosing which brand to stock.
