LAST year the Casterton Fire Brigade was asked if it would consider entering a photo of the road rescue team and its Holmatro rescue equipment in a world-wide competition.
This is the equipment that is carried on the road rescue truck and after some discussion it was decided to enter the competition.
Brigade Captain Jim Condon said with great gusto that the brigade should have a go. James Royston, sales executive of Holmatro Equipment, was keen for the Casterton Brigade to enter its photo because it is a very dedicated road rescue brigade.
The community and district highly regards the Casterton Fire Brigade immensely.
It was decided by members that they approach Kristy McDonald to take different photo shots around the township of Casterton. The photo that was chosen was taken in Henty St one Saturday morning and overlooked the old railway precinct.
The photo that was selected was the Kelpie on a sheep’s back, titled “Birthplace of the Kelpie”.
