NUNS Beach provided a scenic backdrop for the Portland Y-Tri triathlon series which continued amidst serene conditions and strong competition last Sunday.
The triathlon was the second last event of the 2013/2014 season and formed the first open water event for the year.
Event organiser Tony Curran was pleased with the conditions on the day.
“The sea was flat and it was beautiful, the swimmers said it was ideal for them,” Curran said.
“There was a little bit of wind on the cycling leg and the run leg was picturesque because it’s the same as the winter solace run along the cliff top and down along the foreshore”.
A wide range of competitors participated in the event which has become an accessible sport for members of the community.
