PREMIERSHIP hero and goal kicking sensation Kaleb Sherwell has returned to Tyrendarra for the upcoming South West football season after a seven year journey across the state has resulted in his return.
A flourishing list of prior accolades in the South West Football League include dual league best and fairest awards, two premierships in 2004 and 2006 and a reputation as one of the leagues finest goal kickers, reaching the fabled ton in 2006.
Returning to such heights could provide Tyrendarra with a competitive edge heading into what will be a hotly contested season.
Sherwell left the club at the end of 2006, determined to sharpen his football knowledge and refine his skills as he undertook a journey across country Victoria with a range of clubs in a number of different leagues.
The first pit stop would be in the Central Murray Football League, which Sherwell said required an increased intensity.
“When I moved north it was warmer and drier so the pace was a lot quicker on the dryer grounds up there which is different to down here, when we get weather it bogs it down a bit,” Sherwell said.
