Light rain that began to fall would eventually put an end to the final before a lap was done.
While the rain finished the night off, the action in the heat races, along with the C and B main events, gave the crowed plenty to cheer about.
Six heat races had six different winners that once again showed the level of competition that makes it hard for any one driver to dominate a series round in the heats.
During the heats there were a few casualties that would see some frantic work required to both Ryan Davis’s V95 machine and Michael Tancredi’s V30 to get them back on track for the C Main event while other round one heat casualties returned for their second heat race.
All drivers would make it back for the finals.
As time was getting on and Western Speedway having a curfew, the normal top six shootout was cancelled in an effort to get a the Main events done in time.
John Vogels put in a strong performance during the heat races to take pole position for the Eureka A Main and was looking in good form for a strong finish.
