THE 21st annual Heywood Wood, Wine and Roses festival was held on Saturday with plenty of fun despite the lack of sun.
With the previous two festivals held in sweltering conditions, the cloud cover was a welcome sight for all involved, with those conditions helping to attract a bumper crowd this year.
Festival president Ross Barclay said that the crowd size was outstanding.
“We’ve seen a really, really good crowd,” Mr Barclay said.
“Everywhere you look around the grass is filled, and some of the people I’ve had come up to me tell me that they’ve only just heard about the festival but they’ll be back again next year.”
The day kicked off with the street parade in the morning, and there was no shortage of creativity with people from all ages getting involved in the action.
