SOUTHERN Grampians Shire Council is offering free adult fitness classes in a bid to increase participation in physical activity and healthy eating.
The classes will run until the end of March as part of the ‘Get Active Glenelg2Grampians’ (G2G) program.
They will be held in Hamilton, Tarington and Penshurst.
You-nique Energy personal trainer, Karen Huf, put a group of more than a dozen women through their paces at the first session at Tarrington Oval on Tuesday.
Council’s community services and leisure manager, Nola McFarlane said everyone was welcome to attend the free classes.
“These fitness classes are run by professional instructors and are for all fitness levels,” Ms McFarlane said.
“People should bring a water bottle, hat, sun screen and comfortable walking shoes.
“There will be fresh fruit and light refreshment s available after each class.
