FOUR south-west students, all with a strong interest in science, took advantage of near-perfect conditions last week to accompany experts from the Blue Whale Study on a voyage out to sea from Portland to learn more about the massive mammals in particular, and the marine environment in general.
Offering the four the benefit of their many years of studying blue whales were Margie Morrice and Dr Peter Gill, directors of Blue Whale Study and authors of many published papers.

Chosen for the training were Shaun Vanderheyden (16) of HeywoodSecondaryCollege, Megan Husband (16), of PortlandSecondaryCollege, Madeline Englezos (16) of BayviewCollege, and Ceejay Gordon (15) of BaimbridgeCollege.
