THE Portland Touch Association has produced its best ever return in the Western Affiliates Cup on Sunday, with strong results in the final round leading to a top-three finish for all Portland sides.
Portland finished third overall in the series, its highest placing yet, while its women’s side still managed to finished second in its category despite a down performance in the final round.
Head coach Cecilia Eichler said these results were very encouraging for the Association.
“We are not on the bottom any more, which is huge progress,” Eichler said.
“The women getting second overall was pretty good, we were really happy with that, and in everything else we came third, which was an excellent result.
“The men actually really surprised me on the weekend.
