WHEN you have the league’s leading goal kicker and you add further high marking power to your forward line sometimes it pays not to get too complicated with your game plan.
That is the thought process of Camperdown Football Club senior coach and full forward Daniel Casey and on paper at least it makes perfect sense.
Casey led the Hampden Football League goal kicking with 79 last season and after adding high marking athlete Jack Hickey to the forward mix this season Casey said he hopes to see the ball coming in more directly in 2014.
“We have changed our structure right around,” Casey said.
“We used to play around the boundary line a bit, but now we want to play more direct and give our forwards better options.
“We ended up having a lot of shots from the boundary last year, the only time we played up the centre was against South Warrnambool in the last game and we won by 100 points.
