THE inaugural Seafood by the Seashore event on Sunday at Portland’s foreshore has sold out, prompting organisers to expand next year’s event.
The event is part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and will be held from 12.30pm to 4pm.
It has been organised by the Committee for Portland.
Committee executive officer Anita Rank said the event was sold out with 80 people buying tickets.
“There is a waiting list and we will definitely be catering for at least 100 people next year,” she said.
High profile dancer, media personality and foodie Paul Mercurio will be the celebrity chef on Sunday.
“We have been talking with Paul about the numerous options he has using abalone,” she said.
