PORTLAND psychologist Laura Green has been nominated for the Victorian Young Achiever Award for her outstanding professional initiative and efforts for the community.
The objective of the awards is to acknowledge, encourage and promote the positive achievements of young Victorian’s up to 28 years of age.
The award identifies achievement in seven different categories, with one of the category winners being named the Victorian Young Achiever of the Year.
Ms Green was nominated under for the Australian Super Kick Start Award, which acknowledges young people whose passion, determination, willingness to learn and hard work has created opportunities for their future.
Upon learning of her acceptance into a psychology degree at MelbourneUniversity, Ms Green contacted a local psychologist to gain work experience and insight.
This led to continued mentorship, and eventually a relief position in later stages of study.
