A QUARTET of young Heywood golfers has returned home with medals draped around their necks after a tournament victory at Ararat last week.
Noah and Jayden McLeod (aged 12 and 14) combined with Georgia and Rebecca Bryden (14 and 15) to become the Greater Western Sports Region Champions, an initiative run by School Sports Victoria.
The Bryden duo plays off a handicap of 16 while Noah and Jayden McLeod play off handicaps of 21 and 9 respectively.
Matt McLeod, the father of Noah and Jayden, was complimentary of the pairs form heading into the Ararat tournament last week.
“Jayden’s strength is that he hits the ball fairly straight which means he doesn’t get into too much trouble, he also putts very well.
“Noah’s strength is his chipping, he might play a few loose shots but he is good at tapping the ball in.
