WHEN Treloar Roses employee Krystal Watts shaved her head on Friday for the World’s Greatest Shave, an initial tally of $186 meant she was confident about meeting her goal of $200.
But after counting the donations from the collection tin at her workplace, Mrs Watts final total reached $395.55, almost double her target, and she couldn’t be more grateful for the support of all her sponsors.
“Thank you to everyone for their donations,” she said.
Even during the cut at Treloar Roses at lunchtime, Mrs Watts had the support of her co-workers, who turned out in force and some even made a few last-minute donations as the clippers, wielded by Vivid Beauty’s Ashlee Carr, made the journey over her head.
Joining the World’s Greatest Shave has been something Mrs Watts has considered for many years.
“I considered colouring, but it’s something people do every day of the year, and considering the cause, it’s worth shaving,” she said.
