NEW plans for an emergency helipad at Portland District Health are expected to go on public display within the next month.
PDH is rapidly progressing the plans for the helipad proposed to go on its own land between Harbourside Lodge and Seaview House.
Survey work has already been completed, while key stakeholder groups including the Glenelg Shire Council, the Committee for Portland, and the residents of Harbourside Lodge and Seaview House have already been consulted.
Design work for the helipad has already started with a concept plan expected to be finalised this week.
PDH chief executive officer Chris Giles said yesterday the community consultation process would also involve letterbox drops, having plans on public display and meetings with adjacent residents.
