FRIDAY marked National Day of Action against bullying and violence with Portland Secondary College students spending the day making sure the message sunk in.
Students from Years 7 to 12 addressed key issues in relation to cyber bullying and their responsibilities as a digital citizen.
For Year 7 students the theme of their day was ensuring they leave a safe digital footprint, with Year 8’s pledging to look out for their friends online.
With social media frequently playing host to online bullying, students in Years 7 and 8 spent six periods of the day focusing on specific areas of cyber responsibility.
Refraining from complaining and gossiping online were enforced throughout the day, with emphasis on respectful and polite behaviour as the best way to behave online.
