DRUMBORG has recovered from a series of hollow grand final defeats to become A grade champions for the Surry District Tennis Association 2013/2014 season.
The Heywood Recreation Reserve hosted proceedings as the two best sides of the past decade went head to head for the coveted title of premiers.
Drumborg started favourites to claim the redemptive victory following a dominant season which saw multiple victories over their biggest rival.
They stamped their authority on the contest from the outset and never looked in doubt after a strong start last Saturday.
Drumborg hasn’t tasted premiership success since the 2008 victory over Tyrendarra and entered the clash desperate to atone for runners-up performances in 2010 and 2011.
The 7-2 score-line reflected Drumborg’s dominance as they showcased their superiority from the initial stages of the contest.
It was a welcome return to the glory days of the early 2000s, where Drumborg won five consecutive flags.
