HEATHMERE has identified the upcoming season as a chance to rebuild the club both on and off the field.
It is hoped that the building blocks are in place for the side to produce a strong season after 2013 concluded with just two wins.
Key areas of improvement have been identified as improving disposal efficiency and shoring up a leaky defence as the club moves forward into a more promising season.
Senior coach Tim Annett described the upcoming year as a chance to restructure.
“We have had really good numbers this preseason, we are definitely hoping to improve on last year, finals would just be a bonus,” he said.
“Last year was a really down year, the whole committee has changed this year and there has been a high turnover of players.
“We don’t have players travelling from Warrnambool this year; we are just trying to stay local.”
