THE Hamilton Hurricanes under-16 girls are Division Three Victorian junior country champions, winning all of their six games in Bendigo last weekend.
On Saturday, they won convincingly against Corio Bay, Seymour and Benalla which placed them on top of their pool and into Division Three finals on Sunday.
The first game on Sunday was a real pressure match against Portland, as it was the end of the season for the losing team and the winners progressing to the semi-final.
It was a close game from the start with both teams playing great defence, and Portland led at half time by two points.
Foul trouble late in the game for Portland allowed Hamilton to get up by seven points in the last few minutes.
The semi-final against Maryborough was a very physical and fast game which Hamilton led at half time by only a few points.
