CHRIS Eichler won a bronze medal at the 2014 Australian Masters Track National Championships to cap off a strong season in track cycling.
The podium finish opens the door for entry into the world championships after the strong performance in the 20 kilometre points race at the DISC Velodrome in Melbourne.
“All my training went toward the national title, that was the main goal for the season,” Eichler said.
The accolade accompanies a silver medal obtained at the world titles back in 2007 in what is a consistently growing trophy cabinet for Eichler.
Eichler narrowly missed adding a second medal to his repertoire when he finished fourth in the individual pursuit.
The lack of a velodrome within the local area hasn’t deterred Eichler from reaching his goal, often travelling to Melbourne on weekends to chase his dream.
