CASTERTON Sandford Football Netball Club is hoping off-field enthusiasm can translate to on-field success ahead of its Western Border league season opener against South Gambier.
Just months after the members of both clubs voted to join forces, first-year president Shane Foster said he was convinced more than ever it was the right way forward.
He said the response and support from both communities had been tremendous.
“Everything is going along nicely … the merger has gone very smoothly,” Mr Foster said.
“Everyone around the place is very upbeat.
“It’s one of the most positive starts to a season we’ve had in a long, long time.”
