ORGANISER of the 2014 Cavendish Campout has hailed the weekend as a resounding success.
A delighted Sammy Cooper said there was no other way to describe the event as “awesome”.
Nearly 200 cars and vintage caravans rolled in and out of Cavendish from Friday through Sunday for the fifth Campout.
They included an impressive line-up of hot rods and vintage and classic cars, including a 196 Ford Coupe, voted Australia’s top hot rod in 2016.
Mr Cooper proudly declared this year’s event the biggest and best yet.
“I had over 80 odd people stay an extra night (on Sunday) in Cavendish, that normally doesn’t happen,” Mr Cooper said.
“It’s been huge.
“The trash and treasure sites on Sunday stretched all the way around the inside of the Cavendish oval and the cars covered about 90 per cent of the oval.”
