GRANGEBURN players travelled to Macarthur last Thursday and all who attended had a very enjoyable game of bowls and a lovely supper afterwards.
There was plenty of friendly banter on the green.
Runners-up for the evening were Ian Cowland, Trevor Dunn, Val Burton and Phil Thomassen (s).
Winners were Alan Barker, Murray Jasper, Paul Symmons and Jean Schroder (s).
The 72 players who entered the Grangeburn Classic Triples last week enjoyed
the perfect weather over the two days.
After the first day the board leaders, with three wins, were Shane Cashill (Koroit), Alan Sullivan (Hamilton), Barry Padgham Koroit), John Emerson (Penshurst) and Terry
The lead changed a few times the next day with some of the favourites losing a game.
Place getters were:
Fifth (from Mortlake) with 4 +16: George Draffen, Peter Summerhase, David McNicoll. Fourth (from Portland) with 5 +22: Terry Stanley, Bill Sutterby, David Lake.
Third (from Koroit) with 5 +25: Barry Padgham, Shane Quinn, Peter Daley.
Runners-up (from Koroit) with 5 +33: Shane Cashill, Damian Clifford, Les Johnson.
