IT’S not every week an ARIA award winning musician drops by the Portland Arts Centre to play an intimate solo show, but Melbourne based singer-songwriter Lior was nothing short of excited for the change in pace.
After the release of his latest album Scattered Reflections, Lior embarked upon a national tour covering all bases from the larger venues with his full six piece band, to regional locations where he performs solo.
Monday night saw Lior perform a one off show in Portland, a city in which he had never toured before, but decided would be an ideal place to take the regional tour.
“I haven’t toured regional Australia before, but I thought with this new album it would be a good opportunity to take it not only to major cities, but hold solo intimate shows as well in smaller areas,” Lior said Monday afternoon.
Known for his dynamic and emotional performances, Lior has established a reputation as one of Australia’s best live musicians, with his debut album Autumn Flow (2005) becoming one of the most successful independent debuts in Australian history.
